A ZYN Melt is a tablet that dissolves completely under your lip and leaves nothing behind. A ZYN pouch is a small sachet that sits under your lip for up to an hour and then comes out and goes in a bin. That is the difference. The rest of this page is what follows from it.

Strength is the real difference

The format question gets the attention, but strength is what decides whether either product does anything for you.

ZYN Melts stop at 2mg. ZYN’s weakest pouch is 1.5mg and the range runs to 16.5mg. So the strongest melt is weaker than almost every pouch ZYN sells. If you are a pouch user on 6mg or above and you try a Melt expecting the same thing, it will feel like nothing much happened. That is not a fault in the tablet. It is a different strength tier.

If you are coming from a vape rather than a pouch, the gap is wider still, because a 20mg/ml pod and a 2mg tablet are not comparable numbers even before you account for how differently inhaled and oral nicotine behave. We have pulled that apart in is 2mg enough if you vape.

When a Melt is the better pick

  • You hate the soggy pouch at the end and the hunt for a bin.
  • You want a short session, a few minutes rather than an hour.
  • You are a light or occasional user, or you already use 1.5mg or 3mg pouches.
  • You are somewhere a pouch is awkward to remove discreetly.

When a pouch is the better pick

  • You want something that lasts. A pouch can sit for an hour. A Melt is gone in minutes.
  • You need more than 2mg. Pouches go to 16.5mg.
  • You want a flavour that is not mint.
  • Cost per hour of use matters to you. A long pouch session costs one pouch; the same hour on Melts could cost three or four tablets.

Using both

ZYN says adults can use both, one at a time, never a tablet and a pouch together. A common pattern is pouches for long stretches and a Melt for the gaps where a pouch is impractical. How you actually use a Melt is covered in how to use ZYN Melts.

The gap neither one fills

There is no dissolvable product on UK sale above 2mg. Pouches cover the strength range but leave you with a sachet. Melts clear themselves but stop where most vapers start. If you want a dissolvable format at a strength that matches a pod habit, nothing on the shelf does that today.

That is what NYXE is built for, so treat this paragraph as interested rather than neutral. NYXE Melts launch in 4mg and 8mg, dissolve anywhere in the mouth in three to five minutes, and use cooling agents to give a throat sensation a mint tablet does not. UK launch is 2027. You can join the founding list for first access. Until then, if you want a melt this month, ZYN’s is the one you can buy, and where to buy ZYN Melts has the prices.

FAQ

What is the difference between ZYN Melts and ZYN nicotine pouches?

Melts are tablets that dissolve completely and leave nothing to dispose of. Pouches are sachets that stay in place until you remove them. Melts come in 1mg and 2mg; pouches run from 1.5mg to 16.5mg.

Are ZYN Melts stronger than ZYN pouches?

No. The strongest Melt is 2mg. Most ZYN pouches are stronger than that.

Do ZYN Melts last as long as a pouch?

No. A Melt dissolves in minutes. A pouch can be left in for 20 to 60 minutes.

Can you use a ZYN Melt and a ZYN pouch at the same time?

ZYN says no. One product at a time.
