Privacy and cookies

Nyxe Melts is a pre-launch product. This page covers exactly what we collect, what your browser stores on our behalf, how analytics works, and what your rights are.

What we collect

Waitlist email address. When you join the waitlist we store your email address and the referral code we generate for you in our database. We use the email to contact you when Nyxe launches, and for nothing else. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or pass it to any third party outside the tools listed below.

Referral codes. Each waitlist sign-up generates a unique referral code. We store this in our database alongside your email and also in your browser so the confirmed page can display your personal link.

What your browser stores

The following are stored in your browser only. None of them are sent to our servers.

  • nyxe_ref_code (localStorage) - your referral code, so the site can show it to you after joining. Kept until you clear site data.
  • nyxe-18 (localStorage) - a flag confirming you have said you are 18 or over. Kept until you clear site data.
  • nyxe-consent (localStorage) - your cookie preference from the banner: either "granted" or "denied". Kept until you clear site data.
  • Investor and admin access (sessionStorage) - a temporary flag for that browser tab only, deleted when the tab is closed.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics 4 (G-DPG7FX4DL0) and Google Ads (AW-18243595261) to understand how people find the site and whether our advertising is working.

Before consent: if you have not yet responded to the cookie banner, or have clicked Decline, Google runs in cookieless mode under Consent Mode v2. It sends only anonymous, aggregated signals with no cookies and no personal identifiers.

After you accept: Google may set the following cookies.

  • _ga - identifies unique visitors for Google Analytics 4. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_[stream ID] - stores session state for Google Analytics 4. Expires after 2 years.
  • _gcl_au - used by Google Ads to store and track conversions. Expires after 90 days.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to access the personal data we hold on you, to correct it if it is wrong, and to ask us to delete it. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@nyxemelts.com. We will respond within one calendar month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw your consent to analytics and advertising cookies at any time by clearing the site data for nyxemelts.com in your browser settings. This removes all locally stored data including your cookie preference, your age confirmation, and your referral code.

In Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > View permissions and data stored across sites, then search for nyxemelts.com and delete. In Safari: Settings > Privacy > Manage website data. After clearing, the cookie banner will reappear on your next visit.

How long we keep your data

Waitlist email addresses and referral codes are kept in our database until Nyxe ships and the waitlist is closed, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. Data stored in your browser has no server-side counterpart and stays until you clear it.
